You know what I am talking about. We all have that one firefighter who always seems to run the pump.
And then there's the firefighter who reluctantly does it when the "usual operator" is not around - and they are thankful it is just a car fire! This time...

THE SIM
- Multiple Training scenarios that will take you from responding from the fire hall, to getting the truck back in service.
- No experience necessary.
- Guided training to start, complete with explanations.
- Gradual levels of difficulty available to help you build confidence.
- Real-world Scenarios for when you are done with your training.
- Basic “Fast Attack” scenarios for training on the basics.
- Multiple real world scenarios simulate a realistic environment.
- Multiple trucks and operator panel styles, old and new. Really learn that "A Pump Is Just A Pump". Gain confidence!
- Randomization for faults, hose lengths, water supply and more is built into the scenarios so you will not be playing the same scenarios every time!
- Yes! Faults! Things go wrong in the real world, so they should during training as well. Get used to your procedures, but learn how to handle things when they go wrong as well!
- Real-time feedback on fire knockdown based on operator performance.
- Operator scoring, as well as operator action logging, aid in pin-pointing areas of needed improvement.
- Historical data for each operator to track progress, and keep a "paper trail" of training.
- Safety First! Safety integrated into scoring. Cutting corners is not encouraged.
- Realism!
- Friction Loss calculations required
- Communications
- Water Management
- Return to Service Procedures
- Many Updates planned!
- Dynamic Mode: Dynamic scenarios can be created and modified "On-the-fly".
- Multi-user mode: Combine multiple simulators for added realism! (ie: 2 pumps and a ladder working as a team, running default or dynamic scenarios!)
- Vehicle inspections
- Time of day and meteorological conditions
- Vehicle placement
- Pump model with transparency to help operators understand the high/low pressure sections of the pump, and its water flow paths.

COST BREAKDOWN ANALYSIS - CONVENTIONAL TRAINING
The following cost analysis is based on a full department size of 21 firefighters. It represents the costs of a single, 1 hour training evolution, per firefighter, on a pumper truck.
Note: This 1 hour training evolution is a minimal setup. It includes the setup, evolution, and tear-down. This results in less than 1 hr of actual pump training per firefighter.
Each Team (rotating):
Base Cost: $1260.00
+ Fuel Costs
+ Safety Risks (workers compensation, loss of personnel, etc.)
+ Equipment Downtime and Wear
+ Environmental Costs (emissions, fuel and water use, etc.)
Note: This 1 hour training evolution is a minimal setup. It includes the setup, evolution, and tear-down. This results in less than 1 hr of actual pump training per firefighter.
Each Team (rotating):
- 1 Operator
- 2 Firefighters (hose team)
- 3 hour minimum @ $20.00/hr x 3 = $180.00 ($180.00 allows 3 firefighters to practice for 1 hour each per year)
- 21 firefighters to practice
- $180.00 x 7 teams = $1260.00 ($1260.00 allows a 21 firefighter station to train for less than 1 hour each per year)
